i requested auto insurance from state farm. they quoted me at 142 now she calls back and tells me i would have to pay 189 monthly because of some underwriting and that i am a new driver. nut she knew that i was a new driver when i she gave me the quote and when she interviewed me. what should i do now?
im fresh out of driving lessons and i got my license 8-10-06. ive never received a ticket, never driven alone until after i got the car. i gave her all the information she needed including the date i got my L's

1Your only choice is to look at another company if that's too much. A quote is based upon the information you give an insurance company. Once you agree to go ahead, they run a check of your past. They'll run a report to see if you have accidents/violations, they'll see if you've had lapses in your coverage . . . things like that. They will then adjust your rate according to what they find. If you're unhappy, give Progressive a call . . . they can give you a quote for them and many competitors. They can do that because every insurance company by law has to file their current rating figures with each state, and it's public knowledge. So Progressive can run your data against their own figures and others, and the data is accurate. Good luck!
