Additional Information:
A shining star in 2004, the Toyota Prius is sure to hit its stride in 2005, with Toyota doubling production to 100,000 for the US market. The Prius, whose name is derived from Latin meaning “to go before,” produces nearly 90% fewer smog-forming emissions than a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle. The '05 Prius' 1.5L Inline engine boasts a fuel economy of 60 mpg city/51 mpg highway. This is accomplished with the Toyota Hybrid System, which combines a gasoline engine with a maintenance-free permanent magnet electric motor. This system is able to power the vehicle with electricity, gasoline, or a combination of both. Standard features include automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, a theft deterrent system, and power mirrors, windows, and door locks. The Prius also offers cruise control, daytime running lights, side-impact air bags, a vehicle navigation system, a Homelink garage door opener, fog lights, high-intensity discharge headlights, a nine-speaker JBL premium sound system, and a rear intermittent windshield wiper. Some available post-production options include an auto day/night mirror and rear bumper appliqués. Option packages can be selected with equipment such as a GPS system, skid traction control, and a six-disc CD changer. |
